Our Dental Implant Procedure
The dental implant process at Lifetime Dental involves the following:
- Initial Consultation — We perform an exam with x-rays and imaging to determine your jawbone density and candidacy for an implant.
- First Visit — Under local or general anaesthetic, we’ll remove any remaining parts of the missing tooth and insert the post—a small screw-like piece that’s placed into your jawbone. Over time, this post will fuse with the surrounding bone and become a stable part of your jaw.
- Second Visit — After healing, we’ll place a custom-made porcelain crown or bridge on top once the post has fused with your jawbone. Shaped to match your surrounding teeth, the implant is virtually indistinguishable from a natural tooth.
Our Holistic Approach to Dental Implants
At Lifetime Dental, we see dental implants as more than just a solution for missing teeth; they’re a way to restore balance and harmony to your oral health and overall well-being. When teeth are missing, it can lead to shifting and weakened surrounding teeth, which can impact your bite and facial structure. Dental implants offer a stable, biocompatible solution that integrates with your jaw, preserving bone health and supporting facial symmetry.
Unlike dentures or bridges, implants feel like natural teeth, so you can enjoy meals without worry. Dental implants can replace missing teeth with a natural-looking result, depending on individual assessment.
