Lifetime Dental Health Group Rebrands to Lifetime Dental and Our New Location

We have some exciting news here at Lifetime Dental; not only do we have a name, we have a new location as well! But—rest assured—our commitment to creating healthy, beautiful smiles – safely and calmly – has not change one iota.

Why The New Location?

In 2003, I found a great location – 514 High Street, Prahran. I was very excited and duly renovated and created my new dental office. I negotiated a 15 year lease. This was very exciting and a bold move. Would I be able to establish a dental office from scratch (read: no patients)?

Starting a new business is always a risk. I am glad to say that many people came to Lifetime Dental Health Group, enjoyed the new dental philosophies and new treatments and told their friends. Lifetime Dental is a 15+ year success stories that would simply not be possibly without all our wonderful clients. Thank you to all our clients and patients that came, and received holistic dental care at 514 High Street. Thank you to all of you that spread the word and told your friends, family and colleagues. We really appreciate your support and generosity.

Having said that, 15 years come and went all too quickly. A dentist bought the building and decided not to offer an extension of the lease. So, we had to find a new location. Our work is not done. The story must continue.

We searched and searched and the world provided – 684 Malvern Road, Prahran. A dental surgery with high quality, passionate dentists that had been working here for more than 30 years, including brothers Dr Ben Olstein and Dr George Olstein, who had been working there for the last 18 years. It was a match made in heaven. Ben and George Olstein have been caring for the local communities of PrahranMalvern, Armadale, South YarraToorak, and Windsor for many years. They are known Melbourne wide for their calm, caring and compassionate dental care.

With over 40 years experience, Dr George Olstein is a general dentist who cares for the entire family. He has in-depth experience in the areas of smile makeovers and full mouth rehabilitations, as well as treating nervous patients with sleep dentistry.

Dr Ben Olstein—a holistic dentist with over 45 years experience—has been pushing the boundaries of dental care for many years. He is a pioneer in holistic dental care, offering safe amalgam mercury filling removal and understanding the importance of the links between the health of our mouths, and the health of the rest of our bodies.

Both Ben and George understand the importance of a healthy mouth and so have long promoted the highly professional care of a hygienist for performing professional dental cleans and maintaining our oral health. Their hygienists have all ben with them for more than 10 years. A real credit to Ben and George and the Olstein team.

So why the new location? Better premises, long term staff with the knowledge to support their dental team, dentists and hygienists and you the patient. It was a no brainer – better care for all of us.

We look forward to seeing you at 684 Malvern Road, Prahran, where we will continue to care for you and your dental health in a calm, relaxed and professional environment.

Why The Name Change?

We are excited to offer you a new and improved website. The new site is a better reflection of our approach to dentistry, as well as the science and treatment of your overall body health. I have said for 30 years that the mouth is a mirror to the health of the rest of your body. I have said that to be optimally healthy, you need to have a healthy mouth. To achieve this, we need to:

  • Take toxins out of out body, safely.
  • Remove silver mercury amalgam fillings with proper safety measures to protect you, your dentist and dental staff alike, and then remove the toxins that our body stores – chelation therapy.
  • Put good fuel in – good whole foods, organic if possible, and good clean water.
  • Use supplements where we cannot get clean safe food sources.
  • Minimise sugar, dairy, wheat and bananas.
  • Have a calm, relaxed, balanced life – in other words good psychological health.
  • Use the least amount of energy to resist the forces of gravity – in other words structural health.

I am glad to say that we have added to this list:

  • The 3 B’s – breathing, bite and balance.
  • The white fillings replacing the silver mercury amalgams and the glues used to hold them in need to be as safe as possible.
  • We know how to control gum infection. We know how to control tooth infection. The two most common infectious diseases on our planet.

So why the name change? The community is not ready for the net challenge of our journey to Optimal Health. So, our new name ‘Lifetime Dental’ reflects the challenges and goals ahead.

Thanks for joining us on this journey to Optimal Health. Our goal is to create beautiful smiles that give the best first impression so that you can have a great life and enjoy every day to its fullest.

We look forward to seeing you at our new office at 684 Malvern Road Prahran. To make an appointment call (03) 9529 2920 or you can book online. We look forward to your feedback on our new improved website and to answering your questions to help you achieve optimal dental health, the smile of your dreams and optimal overall health.

Dr Chris Darby and the Olstein Lifetime Dental Team.
